There
is an abundance of information about water quality on the internet, from simple
knowledge to complex scientific documents. Authors can be from a wide variety
of sources: government agencies, educational institutions, non government
organizations, water treatment equipment manufacturers and advocacy groups to
name a few. The
intent of this web site is to provide links to content that is easy to
understand and will give you enough information to understand why water
quality matters and what you can do to ensure your water quality is suitable
for what you want to use it for. |

Once
you know what is in your water and what you plan to use it for (see the USES
tab) there is a handy tool to determine if your water is suitable for that
use. It's called the Rural Water Quality Information Tool, or RWQIT for
short. Using your test sample results
you enter your information into the tool and it will assess your water
quality for the use you select and indicate if it is safe to use or what
contaminants will need to be reduced in order to make it useable. Click this link to get to the RWQIT. |
